Research topic:

Design a Cantonese opera movement gamified software

Principal Supervisor: Prof. Leung Bo Wah

Research description:

Gamified software in a virtual environment is widely applied in various aspects of education communities; however, it has not been extensively extended to traditional arts education, such as Cantonese opera. This study aims to develop and validate a Cantonese opera movement gamified software (COMGS) that allows learners to practice the movements through a gamified virtual environment with a motion sensor so that formative assessments can be maintained. This study will first substantiate the possible reliability and validity of a newly developed COMGS; and will investigate the effectiveness of the gamified software in motivating and enhancing students in self-learning and practices.
